In a three-day event dubbed ADOPT ASAP, five adoption centers in the Portland area banded together to place nearly 550 pets in new homes.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Around 550 animals found a new home at a large-scale adoption event in and around Portland over the weekend.
While each organization often holds adoption events, this time they came together to offer 75% off adoption fees at each location over the three-day event. It resulted in 549 pets being adopted across all five locations, Oregon Humane Society said.
The pets adopted include a 14-year-old dog named Bella, who found a new home from Washington County Animal Services. There was also Jeanette, a cat who found a new home via the Cat Adoption Team after having been bounced around shelters.
