Nearly 5 inches of rain falls in Adirondacks, funnel clouds sighted in Central NY (storm roundup) [Video]

The tail end of Hurricane Beryl crossed much of New York state on Wednesday, creating at least two tornadoes, flooding a North Country village and dumping nearly 5 inches of rain on one Adirondacks town.

Across the state, the damage was sporadic but with common results: trees and wires were down in many spots in Central New York and other regions. Weather spotters reported several funnel clouds, including in Onondaga County, according to preliminary reports with the National Weather Service.

There were more than 100 reports of wind damage across the state, and 88 reports of flash flooding, according to the weather service.

Trees fell into homes and were uprooted, including in Geddes and Clay. A tree fell across Interstate 481′s northbound lanes.
