NDN Collective joins board against F3 Gold Exploration Drilling in Black Hills National Forest [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – NDN Collective expressed their opposition to the F3 Gold Newark Exploratory Drilling Project in the Black Hills National Forest in a press release Thursday.

In addition to the press release, the group also sent a tweet, which came after nearly 100 community members in Custer expressed their opposition to the project. NDN joined a board of these community members to advocate against the drilling project.

NDN Local Organizer Taylor Gunhammer said one of their main concerns is this will turn into a full blown mining project.

”It is an obvious precursor to full-scale mining, and to say otherwise is disingenuous and kinda weird,” said Gunhammer.

The Newark Project is allowed under the General Mining Act of 1872 which gives miners the right to explore and mine gold and silver on public land. The drilling project has one year to drill in up to 36 proposed sites on national …
