National Farmers Market week kicks off first week of August [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) -National Farmers Market week is set to kick off Sunday, Aug. 4.

Kansas City’s largest City Market offers more than fresh produce. Local vendors, entertainment and restaurants are a draw that brings a crowd every weekend.

“Our Farmers Market plays a vital role in both the physical and mental health of our community,” said Paula Stocker, Farmers Market Manager at City Market.

According to a press release, the City Market participates in the USDA’s SNAP program. The press release went on to say that SNAP is one of the ways that the Farmers Market supports Kansas City’s local growers and their customers.
