RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. They are dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. In cities around the country, local chapters host NAMIWalks to raise money and awareness for mental health issues. The walks are about people who think nothing of giving everything like their time, their stories and their heartfelt dedication to the cause, ‘Mental Health for All.’
Nichole Schembre, executive director of NAMI Northern Nevada, stopped by Morning Break to talk about Reno’s inaugural walk which takes place Saturday, Oct. 19 at Idlewild Park. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the walk starts at 12 p.m.
