CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The NAACP’s 55th Freedom Fund Gala took place Saturday night at the Capital Bank Tower in downtown Corpus Christi.
The event celebrates the continuous fight for civil rights and change to eliminate discrimination. It was an evening full of speeches and the community coming together to to promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
We spoke with the NAACP Chief of Staff Angela Portis-Woodson on what this night celebrated.
“We have awards that are dedicated to community members, to personal members that have shown and exhibited great excellence in working towards different goals that the NAACP has set. We will be celebrating those individuals as well as companies that have distinguished themselves over and above!” said Portis-Woodson.
