HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Myrtle Beach-area gym is inviting community members to a donation workout to honor those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
CrossFit Myrtle Beach on Waccamaw Boulevard is conducting the event to raise money for a foundation that helps first responders, veterans, and their families.
Anthony Mazzariello, a retired Marine and New York City firefighter who helped save lives on 9/11, planned the inaugural event. He said he hopes it will become an annual fundraiser.
Mazzariello, who trains at CrossFit Myrtle Beach, said he wants to give back to the community.
