MUNFORD, Ala. (WBRC) – If you live in Munford, your post office will soon be moving.
This comes on the heels of a highway expansion project that will include tearing down the building where the current post office is located.
Mayor Jo Ann Fambrough says she found out a few years ago Munford would be losing their post office, leaving neighbors with the option to go to Oxford or Talladega to receive mail.
Mayor Fambrough says with the widening of Hwy 21, she had to come up with a plan that was best for the Munford community. After two years of planning, the mayor says the current post office will be relocated to the senior center on the town’s property, where they will share the same building.
She says this move will allow Munford to continue its relationship with the postal service without putting a strain on people who depend on it.
