Mundy Township, MEDC dissolve NDAs regarding advanced manufacturing district | Business [Video]

MUNDY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – The Mundy Township Board of Trustees met Monday to discuss the proposed advanced manufacturing district for the first time since the new board was elected in November.

The new board is composed of several members opposed to the development, including new Supervisor Jennifer Arrand Stainton. She previously said it was her goal to bring more transparency to the project.

Monday’s meeting was the first step in that direction.

“All conversations involving the MEDC, Tyler’s group [the Flint and Genesee Economic Alliance], etc. moving forward are not under the auspices of non-disclosure,” said Township Manager Chad Young.

Young said the non-disclosure agreements between the township, Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Flint and Genesee Economic Alliance were dissolved by the three parties last week.

The agreements had been controversial among residents, who felt they were an attempt by the previous board to hide what was happening with the development.
