UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Unicoi County Schools announced Wednesday evening that multiple students have been charged and will not return to Unicoi County High School after threats were made against the school.

In a release posted to social media, the school system said that it, along with the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office and Erwin Police Department, is aware of and investigated written and verbal threats against the school.
“Additional information is forthcoming including that multiple students have been charged and will not return to UCHS,” the release stated. “Unicoi County Schools appreciates the attention that our local law enforcement agencies have given these threats and are very thankful to partner with them to help ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
