LEFLORE COUNTY, Okla. — Multiple agencies are investigating after human remains were found in LeFlore County on Thursday, the Latimer County’s Sheriff’s Office said.
The Latimer County Sheriff’s Office released a press release from Latimer County Sheriff Adam Woodruff on Friday.
On Thursday, Sheriff Woodruff was notified by a citizen who said they possibly found human remains on their property located off Highway 82 South near the Bengal Community.
Sheriff Woodruff said upon arrival, it was concluded the possible remains were located east of the Latimer County line in LeFlore County.
The LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), District 16 District Attorney Investigator, and the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office arrived to investigate.
It was determined the remains were in fact human remains.
All agencies spent two days searching the area and collecting the remains along with other evidence, Sheriff Woodruff said in the press release.
