The RSU 10 Board of Directors voted to look into two buildings further to put middle school students in Monday night after Mountain Valley Middle School closed due to mold concerns earlier this month. Students haven’t attended in-person classes at the middle school for nearly two weeks and have been learning remotely since Oct. 15.The two buildings are the Apostolic Church at 9 Brown Street and the old Mexico Police Department, which was originally built as an elementary school, according to the board. Two grade levels would go into each building. “Let’s hope that we can get these kids into in-person learning; that’s what we all want,” said Amanda Hamner, a parent of a Mountain Valley Middle School student. “Let’s eliminate the frustrations and the stress at home.” A new school is also under construction in the district, but it won’t be open until the end of 2025.The RSU 10 …
