FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – To remember the Sept. 11 attacks, Mott Community College held its annual Sept. 11 remembrance memorial at Prahl College Center.
A beam from the World Trade Center sits outside the building.
The memorial included a moment of silence Wednesday at 8:46 a.m., signifying the time of impact on the first tower.
“I think it is important to remind those, maybe those who weren’t born, the history of this incident that happened on Sept. 11, so that they are aware of the impact that it had on our nation,” said the executive director of public safety for Mott Community College, Jamie Zecaman.
Many first responders across Genesee County attended Wednesday’s memorial to pay their respects to the 343 firefighters and other first responders who lost their lives during the attacks.
