Ashe County is taking as many hands as they can get to help deliver resources to neighbors in need. For 12 hours every day for the last week, a mother-daughter duo has been unloading donations from across the country and sending off supply trailers to wherever they are needed.Jennifer Byland and Taylor Lonon have been collecting donations since they first put out a call on Facebook one week ago. In West Jefferson the arcade business they run turned into the largest supply distribution center for their county, where hundreds of volunteers are coordinating everything themselves, from cleaning supplies to hot meals.”Church groups are just showing up with empty trucks saying this is what we need, and it’s coming in one door and out the other,” Byland said. “It’s a constant revolving door of supplies.
