Portland made it to 80 degrees Tuesday under partly sunny skies. But clouds from an incoming weather system will cool daytime highs Wednesday and possibly bring showers to the metro area by the evening.
The National Weather Service says an upper level low moving southward from British Columbia will stall its progress not far off the Oregon Coast by early Thursday. This is the system that will bring rounds of light-to-moderate rain to the region through Saturday.
Portland only has a 20% chance of showers on Wednesday, and any that fall will likely arrive by the afternoon or evening. Skies will stay mostly cloudy, and the high will reach about 75 degrees.
