More electric vehicle charging stations coming to Oregon [Video]

Around 70% of the latest round of funds will be spent on projects in rural and disadvantaged communities in Oregon, ODOT said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon is expected to gain an additional 460 new public electric vehicle (EV) charging ports by 2026 as part of a state rebate program.

The new crop of ports will bring the total number of public EV chargers funded by Oregon Department of Transportation to 882. The majority of these ports are funded in part through the agency’s Community Charging Rebates program, which focuses on creating electric charging ports at apartment buildings, workplaces and publicly accessible parking areas. 

So far, ODOT has unlocked $4.25 million in funds in the first two roundsof the program. The application period for the second round ran from March to July of this year, and around 70% of the funds in the second round have been awarded on projects in rural and disadvantaged …
