More affordable housing for older adults coming to central Toledo [Video]

According to a press release from the city, the development is being constructed on a formerly blighted corner in central Toledo.

TOLEDO, Ohio — City and county agencies broke ground on the construction of a new senior housing facility in central Toledo Wednesday in an effort city leader said they hoped would meet the need for affordable senior housing. 

According to a press release from the city of Toledo, Lucas Metropolitan House and Lucas County, the groundbreaking marked the start of construction on Collingwood Green V. Situated on the northeast corner of Division Street and Nebraska Avenue, the senior housing community will cost $29 million to build, and will consist of 75 apartments available to residents aged 62 and up in the northwest Ohio community.
