Montgomery County taking part in Operation Green Light for Veterans [Video]

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery County is joining a nationwide campaign that shows support for veterans by illuminating buildings green between Nov. 4-11.

The third annual Operation Green Light for Veterans, which is led by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers, will locally feature Montgomery County’s courthouse bathed in green.

“Montgomery County is proud to join communities nationwide in supporting our veterans through Operation Green Light,” said County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “By lighting our landmarks green, we show our gratitude and commitment to those who have served, reminding veterans and their families that our community is here to support them.”

Veterans often face unique challenges in their transition back to civilian life, which can include navigating through available benefits, searching for employment assistance, and finding mental health resources. The county says its goal is to break down barriers and build a stronger support network for veterans.
