Moles popping back up across the Ozarks [Video]

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The last time Springfield-Branson National Airport saw temperatures at below freezing was the morning of March 28th when lows dropped back to about 28°.

We saw numbers back below freezing Wednesday morning with Springfield’s official low at 29°. While that freeze was welcome to kill off the traditional allergens and some unwelcome pests, Austin Camacho, the service manager for Rottler Pest Solutions in Springfield, says that freeze is causing other pests to keep his technicians busy.

“Even though it gets colder and we head back to those freezing temperatures at night, we‘re still able to stay busy,” Camacho says. “Moles are kind of on the run. They‘re doing this thing where they like to collect as much food and make sure they’re set for the winter.”
