MODESTO, Calif. — Modesto looks toward its future.
Modesto 2050 is the city’s long-term general plan project, which aims to comprehensively update its environmental impact report and guide decisions about transportation, jobs, housing, parks and shopping over the next 26 years, the city said. Modesto currently conducts community workshops so residents may inform the project.
The last time the General Plan was given such a major update was in 1995, according to the city. Traditionally, cities update their General Plan every 20 years, and staff wanted to make sure Modesto’s was updated and current, according to Sonya Severo, a city spokeswoman.
