Mobile phone ban plan for ALL schools as Govt wants ‘culture of non-acceptance’ on devices amid cyberbullying fears [Video]

MOBILE phones could soon be banned from secondary schools, the Education Minister Norma Foley has said.

Last year, the Fianna Fail TD took aim at removing mobiles from primary schools amid concerns about the content that younger children were able to access online.

In an interview with The Irish Sun, Minister Foley told how young children were exposed to porn or targeted by sick groomers in sextortion scams through social media.

Inspired by a school in Greystones, Co Wicklow, the Minister published a guide for parents to come together with other parents at their child’s school and agree not to purchase smartphones for their children until they left primary school.

Now, Minister Foley is taking aim at smartphones in secondary schools as she revealed her plan to try them on campus.
