MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Officials with a Mobile hospital are trying to keep communities safe in a way other than health care: a gun lock giveaway.
According to a press release, USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital is holding gun lock giveaway on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Through the giveaway, which is possible due to a grant from SafeKids USA, households can receive up to two free gunlocks.
Hospital officials said the giveaway is important as some research shows that a majority of kids were unable to distinguish real guns from toy guns.
