Police said the officer told the man to drop a knife he was holding multiple times. It is unclear if the man, whose ID was from Honduras, spoke English.
A St. Clair, Missouri, officer shot and killed a man with a knife who crawled out of a crashed car Saturday night, a press release from the department said.
According to a release from St. Clair Police Chief Michael Wirt, the deadly shooting happened at about 8:30 Saturday night along North Service Road in St. Clair. Police did not release the man’s identity but said he was 28 years old.
The press release said a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol saw a flipped vehicle off the side of the road near where the road makes a sharp turn and called for help from St. Clair police and EMS.
