SALT LAKE CITY — A 14-year-old Ogden teen and her cousins have been safely recovered after going missing in Mexico on June 30.
Elizabeth Gonzalez, 6-year-old Sofia Mailen Moreno Zamora and 4-year-old Regina Moreno Zamora were found Friday night at 9:30 p.m. The three were found in Veracruz, Mexico, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation news release.
Gonzalez was visiting her grandmother in Mexico when she went missing.
Missing Ogden teen found with suspect
According to the FBI, the three were found with 31-year-old Antonio Moreno. The FBI said in a past press release that Moreno is Gonzalez’s uncle and father of her two cousins.
Moreno was a suspect in the FBI’s search for the three girls.
“A federal arrest warrant has been issued for Moreno on charges related to Elizabeth’s disappearance to include kidnapping,” the FBI said in the release.
The FBI added that Moreno will be brought back to the United States to face those charges.
