Milwaukee’s mayor rappels down building to raise money for Doors Open [Video]

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson rappelled down the 13-story Milwaukee Athletic Club to support Doors Open.”I think that I may have made history as the first mayor to rappel down a building in Milwaukee,” Johnson said.The group Historic Milwaukee hosts “Doors Open” every fall.It’s a weekend where historic buildings around the city let people go in to explore. Some of the popular destinations include the Milwaukee Art Museum, City Hall and the Pfister Hotel. The mayor said Doors Open lets Milwaukeeans connect with their city.”Doors open Milwaukee, working to make sure that people all across our community and beyond get a chance to come here and experience Milwaukee in ways that they ordinarily don’t,” Johnson said.Historic Milwaukee asked everyone who rappelled to raise $500 for doors open, which is next weekend.
