Miller and Clow attend Twin Falls school legislative tour [Video]

TWIN FALLS — Thirty community leaders went back to school Thursday to learn about declining enrollment and the status of bond payments during an annual legislative tour of Twin Falls School District.

Superintendent Brady Dickinson said the district has organized the event for the past 20 years. Representatives from the state legislature, county commission, city council, school board and several community organizations hopped on a yellow school bus and visited two high schools and an elementary school.

Rep. Steve Miller, R-Fairfield, told the Times-News you can’t really understand what’s happening in local schools until you talk to the people involved, such as students, teachers and administrators.

“You’re always concerned about money you spend and student performance and how to make that more efficient,” Miller said.

Dickinson delivered a state of the district presentation at Magic Valley High School and provided updates on a decrease in enrollment and bond payments.
