The event had some fun activities for students to enjoy, while parents got the chance to connect with local organizations, like health and wellness resources. About 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies were given out to students in the backpack distribution.
“Definitely speaks to the excitement of back to school, but it also speaks to the need that we have in our community,” Director of Food and Nutrition Wellness Services of Middletown Public Schools Randall Mel said. “There’s a big need here in Middletown. We appreciate all the vendors that have donated their time, their efforts and their resources.”
