Michigan Cyber Patriot Seeks Donations To Fund Awards And Summer Camps [Video]

DEARBORN – The Michigan Cyber Patriot program teachers grade school students and senior citizens how to surf the Internet safely.

Joining MITech TV is Founder Tamara Shoemaker who updates what’s happening with the competition, summer camps and more.

She also seeks donations from Michigan businesses to expand the program to more schools around the state. Plus she seeks to recruit cybersecurity professionals who can mentor these students in hopes that they will join them in the cybersecurity ranks where tens of thousands of high paying jobs are available.

Shoemaker also was elected President of Michigan Women In Cybersecurity Regional Affiliate (WiCyS). She encourage other women in cybersecurity to join and contribute to the program.
