Mexia, Texas designated as Music Friendly Texas Certified Community by TMO [Video]

MEXIA, Texas — Mexia, Texas has joined a prestigious group of Texas towns to receive a special honor, being designated as a Music Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Music Office (TMO).

According to a release, the City of Mexia completed a multi-step certification process to receive the designation, becoming the 71st city in the state of Texas to earn the title.

According to the TMO, the Music Friendly Texas program was founded in 2016, and is meant to “foster music business-related economic development and job creation in Texas cities and communities”.

Local and state leaders have voiced their excitement for the new designation and offered congratulations.
