Shortly after walking the carpet at the season 4 premiere of Only Murders in the Building on Aug. 22, Short, 74, and Streep, 75, were spotted holding hands at an afterparty at the Paramount Lot in Los Angeles.

The duo stayed close while they walked around the event as their OMITB costar Steve Martin followed behind them in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Deadline.

Still, a source tells PEOPLE that the two are “just friends.”

Just moments before, the costars posed and smiled together on the red carpet as they celebrated the fourth installment of the hit Hulu series. They were also seen holding hands on the carpet while in good spirits.
