MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – On Thursday local rental owners and the community development board met to discuss the rental property ordinance placed on hold.
Friday, News 11 spoke with a realtor about the meeting that took place.
Realtors needed clarification on the ordinance and a better understanding of it while others didn’t agree with what was written in it.
Realtors want more public meetings that satisfy everyone and ensure property owners keep their properties.
“And make sure that this is an ordinance that doesn’t just work for today, but it works for 10 years from now. Also, we want to make sure that you know the realtor board, yes, we probably have about 4 or 500 properties that we’re managing throughout the city, but there’s several thousands of them out there that we aren’t even involved in,” said Steve Corey.
