Mental health rises in New Years resolution subjects for 2025 [Video]

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Are you a firm believer in making New Year’s resolutions for your emotional well-being? If so, you may be among a recent rise in hopeful goal-setters.

The American Psychiatric Association reports that 33% of people around the country are making mental health promises into 2025. This is a 5% increase from 2024 and the highest since polling first began in 2021.

The increase applies to audiences between ages 18-34, with 48% reporting inner health resolutions, focusing on physical fitness, meditation, nature focuses, spirituality, therapy, social media breaks, psychiatry or using mental health apps.

The idea of resolutions is still popular across the board, with 81% of people making any general New Year’s resolution.

The study received physical fitness, finance, social, relationships, diet and spirituality as the top five overall resolutions.
