MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Thursday marks the start of the busiest travel period of the year and at the Memphis International Airport they will try and balance thousands of travelers with the start of their new renovations.
“Really you will see five days of heavier traffic most of those days are going to feature 10,000 people passing through the checkpoint,” Glen Thomas said.
Thomas is the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Memphis International Airport, and said while travels take the sky there are going to be changes on the ground.
“Now we are working on creating a new commercial lane on the baggage level that will allow us to move Uber and Lyft early next year and we are going to get closer the outer drive at the airport,” Thomas said.
