Memorial grows outside of Fargo homicide scene, suspected shooter on the run [Video]

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A memorial is building outside of the Maplewood Bend Apartments in south Fargo.

Photos, candles, balloons, flowers and teddy bears have been laid for 35-year-old Sampson Bleh, who was shot and killed there Friday afternoon.

The community gathered there Monday night for a vigil.

Police say he knew the shooter. The suspected gunman in the case, Leo Dartoe, is still on the run.

Officers surrounded the complex, with guns drawn, after the shooting for hours. However, Dartoe had left the area. Police say he has ties to Philadelphia, but at this point, he could be anywhere.

“I can’t comment on that because really I don’t know,” Fargo Police Capt. Bill Ahlfeldt said. “There’s any possibility of where the suspect could be right now. We’re working with our partners to try and locate the suspect.”

Dartoe is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees him should not approach him, and instead call 911.
