Otherwise known as Chief Meteorologist Ben Pine’s grandma, 97-year-old Norma Bridges started performing when she was in her 60s.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — This 97-year-old clown has brought smiles to people’s faces for decades, and a surprise visit to a Bingo club in Borden, Indiana was no different.
Meet Bumpkin the Clown. Otherwise known as Chief Meteorologist Ben Pine’s grandma, 98-year-old Norma Bridges started clowning around when she was in her 60s in the 1990s.
She started taking classes at Community and Methodist hospitals in Indianapolis right before retirement.
She eventually became a registered clown and volunteered at many community events.
It takes about 2.5 hours to become Bumpkin, and about two hours to take all the make up off when she’s done clowning around.
When Bridges retired, she also took up clogging and tap dancing.
