As the seasons change, medical professionals across the country are preparing for an increase in influenza cases.According to the Centers for Disease Control, flu activity tends to increase in October and peak between December and February. The CDC adds since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timing of virus activity has become more difficult to track. A nurse Practitioner at Rutland Regional Medical Center, Hannah Mulligan, recommends taking precautions to prevent getting sick. “Get vaccinated, wash your hands and stay away from others when you are feeling ill,” she said.
