MEDFORD, Ore. — The City of Medford will be formally selecting its new city manager, Robert Field, on Aug. 1, according to a news release.
“Mr. Field brings over thirty years of experience in local government and the private sector,” the release said. “…(He) has a robust background in capital project planning, economic development (and) community engagement.”
Field’s most recent job was as the city manager for San Bernardino, CA, the release said. He has also been the assistant county executive officer for Riverside County’s Economic Development Agency and director of facilities management for Riverside County.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Studies from California Baptist University.
Medford’s current city manager, Brian Sjothun, is retiring this year, the release said.
