MEDFORD, Ore. — Medford School District says there is “no credible threat” following a social media post from Thursday night identifying three schools as potential targets for violence.
NewsWatch 12 received a copy of a Medford School District (MSD) advisory to parents today. The advisory follows, saying the post had identified Hedrick Middle School, North Medford High School and South Medford High School as potential targets for violence.
Ron Havniear, MSD’s director of security facilities and leadership, said the district mobilized its marshals, school resource officers (SROs) and other MPD officers once the threat was identified.
“Our relationship and partnership with MPD is very strong,” Havniear told NewsWatch 12. “If we have any inkling that there is a credible threat, even after hours…we will be addressing it that night.”
