Maysville residents, businesses enduring weeks-long boil water advisory [Video]

A total of 465 customers of the Maysville Public Water Supply are waiting for their town’s leaders to make water safe to drink again.They have endured nearly a month-long boil order because Maysville’s Public Water Supply has remained too cloudy.Residents, restaurants, schools, and other businesses in town are all using bottled water until the Missouri Department of Natural Resources gives the all-clear.Angy Dowell showed KMBC 9 Investigates the level of cloudiness, or turbidity, from her tap on Wednesday. She said the water’s color was not as bad as earlier this month.Still, it smelled of chlorine.Dowell said living in a wheelchair makes it difficult to boil water. “I am handicapped,” she said. “What about the people, the elderly? What about other people who are handicapped, who can’t boil the water safely?”Dowell has piles of water bottles in her home. She’s also questioned her water bill“Here is my biggest issue,” she said. …
