SHELBY COUNTY, Tennessee — New leadership is on its way to MATA. The board voted on Wednesday to install three members from an outside consulting group to head up the embattled transit provider on an interim basis.
The board, newly appointed by Mayor Paul Young in October, voted 7-1 in favor of consulting firm TransPro taking over leadership of the transport provider over the frustration of members of the public who came to the meeting, including bus drivers, riders and other advocates.
