After a week of high heat and humidity, Massachusetts is set to receive heavy rain Friday night with National Weather Service forecasters warning of flooding in most areas of the state.
During the day on Friday, there is a chance for isolated showers or storms, but any storms that do develop are not likely to last very long, according to the weather service. Temperatures will be hot and humid again with a mix of sun and clouds.
High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s for most of the region, with temperatures feeling warmer, in the low 90s.
But as Friday turns to Saturday, “the atmosphere will be ripe for heavy rainfall,” forecasters wrote, with a possibility of up to 2.2 inches.
