The Blount Partnership will start construction on a road that will lead into the complex this month.
BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Construction is set to begin soon on 400 apartments planned for Blount County’s Pellissippi Place Development.
Jeff Muir, a spokesperson with the Blount Partnership, said the group would begin a boulevard construction project off Highway 33 in Maryville in August that would build a road into the complex.
“They’ll start construction after that on the two new apartment buildings. That project will take about 16 months,” Muir said
He said after the first two buildings are built, two more will be built. A retail and restaurant component is also planned for the area.
Muir said Pellissippi Place is mostly a technology and research development park. However, its proximity to nearby businesses like Clayton Homes and the Maryville-Alcoa Greenway makes it an attractive area for housing and entertainment.
