Martin Luther King III to speak at North Omaha church [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A coalition of Black leaders in Omaha are bringing Martin Luther King III to the city for a two-day visit and celebration later this month.

The Omaha chapter of the NAACP, Black Votes Matter Institute of Community Engagement, the Omaha Star, and the North Omaha Visitor Center will welcome the human rights activist at a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Hilton Omaha, located at 1001 Cass St. He will then speak that evening at 7 p.m. at the Joy of Life Church of God and Christ, located at 6401 N. 56th St.

The next day, he will tour the city, making a noon stop at the Great Plains Black History Museum as it celebrates the 61st Anniversary his father’s 1963 March on Washington.
