The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, had previously adopted a dog from the shelter.
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown said it can breathe easier this holiday season following one man’s donation.
The ARL said that after it was left without about $15,000 in expected financial assistance for pet food, its ability to support programs that give back to pets in the community was greatly reduced.
As a result, it would have to feed shelter pets using food donations which would bite into the organization’s budget.
That was all until a recently adopted dog named Marvin stopped by with his owner who decided to make a donation of $10,000. The owner wishes to remain anonymous, according to the ARL
“I almost hit the floor…but before I did I had to shake his hand and Marvin’s paw!” the ARL wrote in a social media post.
