Mark Pope believes Amari Williams is ‘fine,’ X-rays clean [Video]

Kentucky center Amari Williams went down with a leg injury after just three minutes on the floor, going back to the locker room for testing and ultimately missing the remainder of the Wildcats’ 98-67 win over Minnesota State. He returned to ride the exercise bike to close out the first half and was with the team on the bench after the break, but Brandon Garrison took over as the lone five on the floor the rest of the way.

Where do things stand now for the Drexel transfer ahead of the regular season opener? Mark Pope says early results are positive.

“I think he’s fine,” Pope said after the win. “X-rays came back solid but we’ll get some more imaging tomorrow. We’re hopeful he’ll be back soon.”
