Deputies were called to the Booth Road Walmart on Wednesday after a man, 28-year-old Quintorrius Hightower, allegedly walked into the store with a gun, the press release said.
According to the release, Hightower had been in a disagreement with store employees, which is when they say he left the store and grabbed a gun from his car.
While he did not point the gun at anyone or fire any shots, Hightower was a convicted felon, the police department says. Felons are prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law.
When deputies arrived, they say Hightower fled the scene as officers chased him. Amid the search, that’s when they believe Hightower was picked up by another vehicle and left the area.
