GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was discovered shot and killed Saturday morning.
According to a press release from the Greensboro Police Department, around 7 a.m., Greensboro police, Greensboro Fire and Guilford County EMS responded to a call about a person down in the 2100 block of South Benbow Road.
Officers found Jawan Aunree Warren-Jackson, 37, unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Benbow Road was closed Saturday morning as police investigated the scene.
Warren-Jackson’s next of kin have been notified.
GPD said this is the 25th homicide in Greensboro this year.
