JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ind. — An Indiana man was sentenced to 15 years in prison after breaking into a home and threatening those inside with a sword, according to a press release Jefferson County Prosecutor David Sutter.
On Jan. 10 a Jefferson Circuit Court sentenced 26-year-old Beebe Brooks to 15 years in prison after he plead guilty to burglary while armed with a deadly weapon, a level 2 felony.
The court also ordered three years of the sentence to be suspended to probation.
The Madison Police Department responded to reports about a man breaking windows and threatening residents with a sword at a home on Cherry Drive.
When officers got there they detained Brooks, who was found with a concealed sword. They say witness statements and physical evidence revealed Brooks forcibly entered the home.
