Man dead, woman injured after Lakewood shooting [Video]

LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WJW) – A Bedford man is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting in Lakewood Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Lakewood Police Department, a report of two people arguing on Chase Avenue between Merl Avenue and Clifton Boulevard was made to police just before 7:55 a.m. It was also reported that gunshots were heard in the area.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man who had succumbed to his injuries and a woman who had at least one gunshot wound, both on the sidewalk of Chase Ave., according to the release.

The man was identified as 34-year-old Bryant Carter, of Bedford.

According to Channel 19, the woman injured is WOIO reporter Winnie Dortch. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, according to the release.
