Man dead after shooting in South Macon, per Bibb sheriff’s office [Video]

They say the shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

MACON, Ga. — A man is dead after being shot in south Macon, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office

The release says deputies responded to a call on the 3700 block of Spencer Circle around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. They found a man in one of the homes who had been shot, according to the report.

They say the man was taken to a local hospital, where he died. 

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones identified the victim as 44-year-old Jason Elliott Mitchem. 

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says investigators are still working on finding out what led to the shooting. At this point, nobody has been arrested.
